Stop. Drop. And ROLL! 🐾
Stop. Drop. And ROLL! 🐾We were supposed to be going for a walk. Apparently, Freedom had other plans. Walk? Sure. But first… STOP DROP AND ROLL! Because sometimes you’ve got places to go, miles to walk and things to accomplish… and your dog finds one absolutely irresistible patch of grass. Freedom stopped. Down she went. And then… ROLLLLLLLL! One side. The other side. Back. Shoulders. Wiggle. Twist. Four paws toward the sky There was no rushing this process. This wasn’t a quick roll. This was a full-body, all-four-paws, I-have-cleared-my-schedule-for-this grass experience. And there I was at the other end of the leash thinking: Freedom? We ARE still going for a walk, right? Freedom’s response? “Yeah, yeah. We’ll get there.”😂 And maybe that’s one of the things I love most about getting outside with a dog. I might head out thinking about the walk. The distance. The exercise. Where we’re going. What I need to get done when we get home. Freedom? She’s thinking about right now. The sunshine. The smells. The grass underneath her back. And apparently the urgent need to roll around in it like she’s never encountered grass before in her entire life. Maybe our dogs know something we occasionally forget. Getting healthy isn’t only about how many miles we walk. It isn’t always about the workout. Sometimes being healthy means getting outside. Moving your body. Feeling good. Laughing. Being ridiculous. And actually, enjoying where you are while you’re there. So yes, Freedom. We’ll finish our walk. But apparently today’s lesson comes first: STOPDROPROLLENJOY THE GRASSAnd then…we walk! 🐾Has your dog ever brought your walk to a complete halt because something was simply TOO GOOD to pass up? email me at pamela@doggonehealthychoices.us...Tell me about all about it. One foot. One paw. And occasionally…four paws straight up in the air.Until we meetup again, have a happy and healthy tail wagging day, and get outside enjoy what God has given us and STOP, DROP, and ROLLPamela and Freedom |
