Hey Reader, Apparently, I’m a couple of days late to the party. August 19 was National Aviation Day. ✈️ And I couldn’t just let it fly by without mentioning it. My dad loved airplanes. He was part of the Long Island Early Flyers Club, built model airplanes, and even helped rebuild a helicopter with the group. So, aviation was one of those things that was simply part of my life growing up. And I still have some of his model airplanes today. But here’s where airplanes somehow turned into dogs. 😂 The other day, I walked into my mom’s house with Freedom on leash and found my mom and her friend talking. Naturally, Freedom helped turn the conversation toward dogs. We started talking about service dogs, emotional support animals, and the different roles dogs can play in people’s lives in the community she lives part of the year in Florida! And it got me thinking. Dogs can be our companions. Our exercise partners. Our motivation to get outside. Our stress relievers. And for some people, specially trained service dogs can provide assistance that gives them greater independence and helps them navigate everyday life. That’s a remarkable range of jobs for one species. 🐾 And it also reminded me how easily people can get confused about the differences between a pet, an emotional support animal, and a trained service dog. That’s a conversation I’d like to explore more another day. But today, I’m curious about your dog. What role does your dog play most in your life? 🐾 Best friend? 🐾 Walking or running partner? 🐾 Stress reliever? 🐾 Adventure buddy? 🐾 Service dog? 🐾 Something completely different? Hit reply and tell me. Because whether they’re helping us take another step, get through a difficult day, or simply making us laugh… our dogs have an amazing way of helping us move forward. Just a note, this is going to be my last daily email for awhile, I’m going to start emailing you weekly- every Tuesday…..starting on August 25th, where I will be sharing something about hopes and dreams. Until next time have a happy and healthy tail wagging day, One foot and one paw at a time. 🐾 Pamela & Freedom Doggone Healthy Choices |
