Do you remember Sunday mornings with the newspaper? 📰🐾

Hello ,

There was something about Sunday morning.

You didn't necessarily have anywhere to be.

You could grab the newspaper from the front step or driveway, crawl back into bed — or settle into your favorite chair — and just read.

The headlines.

The local news.

The features.

And, of course, the Sunday funnies.

Maybe there was a cup of coffee nearby.

And if you were lucky, there was a dog beside you who seemed just as interested in whatever was on that page as you were.

Freedom and I decided to bring that tradition back.🐾

Although I'm pretty sure Freedom is mostly checking for stories involving dogs, squirrels and snacks.

Times have certainly changed.

For many of us, the newspaper isn't waiting on the front step anymore.

The news is still there.

We're just opening something different to find it.

Instead of unfolding a newspaper, we're opening our phones, tablets and computers.

And one of the ways I like being able to stay curious and informed is 1440.

The newspaper changed. Curiosity didn't.

1440 takes some of the biggest stories and information from across more than 100 sources and puts them into one quick morning read.

In about five minutes, you can get caught up on what's happening and then decide what you want to explore further.

And here's something I absolutely love about the name:

1440 is partly a nod to the printing press, which was invented around the year 1440.

Think about that.

The printing press helped change the way ordinary people could access knowledge.

Hundreds of years later, we're still doing essentially the same thing — learning about our world — only now the "paper" might be sitting in the palm of our hand.

Technology changes.

Our curiosity doesn't.

Neither does the pleasure of slowing down for a few minutes and learning something new.

And thankfully, neither does having a dog looking over your shoulder while you're trying to read. 😂

Maybe that's one Sunday tradition worth keeping.

Grab your coffee.

Grab your dog.

Open something worth reading.

And take a few minutes to find out what's happening beyond your own front door.

Freedom's only complaint?

1440 doesn't have a Sunday comics section.

Yet. 😉
